Hoefflich, whose creations in the past include Tommy Armour 845, Titleist DCI and TaylorMade RAC irons reveals that the 5DX will be available in nine different lofts, from 14 to 26 degrees with 1.5 degree gaps between each club. The revolutionary shape, created by legendary club maker John Hoeflich is designed to place discretionary weight to the extreme perimeters of the clubhead, with ‘wings’, on the rear to optimise the centre of gravity, improve stability and and make miss-hits more forgiving. Choose accordingly.The Nickent 5DX Ironwood, reputed to be the longest and straightest hybrid the company has ever produced, is coming to Britain and Ireland with the establishment of the brand in Europe later this month. As much as Adams gets well-earned credit for pioneering the modern hybrid to the mainstream market, Nickent was right there around the same timeand its designs appealed to.
There are other hybrids out there that play more like a fairway wood. The first line was under the Genex Cross name, and then soon after the 3DX was launched, which included the famous Genex Ironwoodone of the finest hybrids of all time. Proceeds from the sale of this club benefits the First Tee of the Treasure Coast. The club cover is from a 4DX, but it fits this club fine. If you don't like to hit long irons, you may not like this club. Nickent 3DX Ironwood DC 18.5 3+ Hybrid with Regular Graphite shaft, also comes with a club cover. It really does play like a #1 iron but easier to hit with the corresponding loss of feel. The shaft is about 1.5 inches longer than my #2 iron and the distance is about 20 yards longer than the #2. This club sets up and plays more like an iron than a fairway wood.

This offers a nice compliment to my Nike driver that has a high launch angle with minimal roll. The launch angle is very low and the ball rolls significantly. The Nickent club is much easier to hit (for me) than a fairway wood and I get similar distance to a 3 wood both off the tee and off the turf. I carry conventional blade irons 2-9 and three wedges. I have been out of golf for several years and now that I'm back in, decided to replace my original small head woods with a new large head driver and the Nickent #1 hybrid. The 3DX RC Ironwood was developed to complement the 3DX RC irons, but stands alone as an easy-to-hit, high-launching. With a refined design a patent-pending new face insert with alternating. 3D alignment capabilities with the most extreme perimeter weighting in a putter allowed by physics gives you a putter that rolls the ball true, straight and directly where you aimed. The Genex ironwoods (starting with either the 6-, 5-, or 4-ironwood, depending on your preference) are not replacement clubs for traditional irons, as is the case with other hybrid sets.
